Sale Conditions

Sale Terms & Conditions

Furniture Place NZ is a retail furniture store with a showroom open 7 days a week. All products are available for viewing, and buyers or their agents are welcome to inspect them in person before purchase. Customers are encouraged to compare models and styles carefully, as our products are not sold based on photographs or online descriptions alone.

Buyers who are particular about finish, colour, texture, timber grain, or other cosmetic details are strongly encouraged to inspect the product in person before purchase to ensure it meets their expectations.

Returns

Change-of-mind returns are accepted only within 7 days of receiving the product and only if all of the following conditions are met:

  1. The buyer must contact us by email within 7 days of receiving the product.
  2. The product must be returned in its original, unopened, sealed packaging and in undamaged condition.
  3. A minimum 30% restocking, administration, assessment, and inspection fee applies. This fee may be higher depending on the work required.
  4. The buyer is responsible for all return arrangements, costs, and transit risk.
  5. Shipping, delivery, installation, and other service charges are non-refundable.

The following items are not eligible for return:

  • Display or floor stock items
  • Seconds or clearance items
  • Bulk order or purchase
  • Customized products
  • Mattresses, for hygiene reasons
  • Any product returned outside the 7-day period

Warranty

All products carry a one-year RTB (Return to Base) warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal household use only.

This warranty does not cover:

  • misuse or abuse
  • incorrect handling or assembly
  • normal wear and tear
  • accidental damage
  • cosmetic issues that do not affect normal use
  • damage caused after delivery

RTB Policy

RTB means the buyer is responsible for returning the product to us for inspection, repair, or replacement. We do not provide on-site inspection, repair, exchange, or collection.

If a returned product is confirmed to have a defect covered by warranty, we will repair it and send it back at our cost, or provide replacement parts where appropriate.

Acceptance of Terms

By using our website, placing an order, making payment, arranging delivery or pick-up, or purchasing from us online, by phone, by message, or in store, the buyer confirms that they have had the opportunity to read, understand, and accept these Sale Terms & Conditions before completing the purchase.

These Sale Terms & Conditions are available on our website and apply to all purchases unless Furniture Place NZ agrees otherwise in writing before the sale is completed.

It is the buyer’s responsibility to read these Sale Terms & Conditions before purchasing. A buyer cannot later reject, avoid, or dispute these terms only because they did not read them, did not notice them, were not verbally informed, or chose not to ask questions before completing the purchase.

Some products, including mattresses, are excluded from return due to hygiene reasons and/or product-specific sale conditions, whether the item is sealed, unsealed, unopened, opened, unused, or used, unless New Zealand law requires otherwise.

This means product-specific sale conditions and/or mattresses are not accepted for return for change of mind, wrong choice, comfort preference, size choice, suitability, ordering mistake, or any other non-fault reason. This applies even if the customer later says they were not verbally informed, did not read the terms, did not notice the policy, or did not ask about returns before purchasing.

Where a customer is unsure about any product, return condition, warranty condition, size, colour, finish, comfort, suitability, or other detail, the customer should ask Furniture Place NZ before purchasing or inspect the product in our showroom before completing the purchase.

Completing the purchase means the buyer accepts these Sale Terms & Conditions, including our return exclusions, mattress return exclusion, restocking fees, return time limits, warranty process, and RTB policy.

Nothing in these Sale Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any rights that cannot legally be excluded under New Zealand law, including rights for genuine product faults or legal warranty claims.

Consumer Law

The Consumer Guarantees Act does not apply to goods ordinarily acquired for commercial use.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes any rights that cannot legally be excluded under New Zealand law.
